REDLANDS WILDLIFE RESCUE
Redland City Council is urgently seeking phone service volunteers to support Redlands Wildlife Rescue. Redlands Wildlife Care Network is a phone service staffed by trained volunteers in their own home. Some of the responsibilities of RWCN volunteers include:

providing advice to callers about sick, injured or orphaned animals,

organising a wildlife carer for animals in need,
-
providing knowledge and education regarding animal behaviour

LOVE YOUR PET? PROTECT THEM FROM HEARTWORM
RSPCA Queensland is reminding pet owners to protect the hearts that love them most - their pets. Heartworm is a serious yet preventable disease, most common in dogs, but cats can contract the parasite also.Heartworm is quite resistant to treatment. Prevention is the best method to protect your pets and avoid serious health issues.

In this hot and humid weather, it is important to keep your pets cool with ample shade and water.
Some RSPCA top tips for keeping your pet cool:
· Never leave animals tethered as they can get tangled and not be able to reach shade or water.
· Walks and playtime early morning or late afternoon
· Never leave pets unattended in cars - they can turn into ovens in a matter of minutes.

VOLUNTEER MARINE RESCUE VICTORIA POINT The VMR Victoria Point is seeking active and auxiliary volunteers to jointheir dynamic team dedicated to saving of lives at sea. You will be trained in all aspects of marine activities to assist in the manning of their vessels and at the base. VMR Victoria Point are looking for Men and Women of all ages to fulfil all duties including, Radio operators, Fundraising people, and base duties if you’re not interested in being on the boats as crew. If you are aged between 18 and 80 years of age, please contact our secretary at secretary@mrq.org.au or drop down to the base on weekends for more information.
