Driver / Operations & Maintenance

Hands-On Role | Portable Bathroom Hire | Brisbane

Looking for more than just a driving job?

Ensuites On Tow is looking for a reliable, practical and motivated person to join our Brisbane operation.

The core of the position involves delivery, setup, collection, cleaning and maintenance of our portable ensuites, showers and luxury restroom trailers.

However, we’re also very interested in what else you can bring to the business.

We are deliberately keeping this role broad. The right person may come from transport, construction, maintenance, caravans, manufacturing, fibreglass, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, workshop or supervisory backgrounds.

If you’ve got useful skills, we want to hear about them.

We supply the uniforms, tools, phone, vehicle and all training.

Must be able to work unsupervised and with a team.

The day-to-day role

Your regular duties will include:

  • Delivering and collecting portable ensuites, showers and restroom trailers
  • Setting up equipment correctly at customer sites
  • Cleaning and preparing equipment between hires
  • Loading, unloading and moving equipment
  • General repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Checking equipment before and after hire
  • Maintaining vehicles, trailers, tools and equipment
  • Completing job records and inspections
  • Dealing professionally with customers
  • Helping maintain an organised and efficient yard and workshop
  • Forklift operation – A requirement
  • Manual Licence – A requirement

This is a hands-on position. Everyone in our operation needs to be prepared to get involved and get the job done.

We’re particularly interested in applicants with experience in one or more of the following:

Got additional skills? Even better.

  • Fibreglass repairs and fabrication
  • Caravan, RV, marine or trailer repairs
  • Building and fitting out new portable ensuites or similar equipment
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical or 12V systems
  • Mechanical repairs
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Cabinetry, joinery or fit-out work
  • Trailer servicing and repairs
  • Truck-mounted crane operation
  • Workshop or yard supervision
  • Leading and supervising staff
  • Transport and delivery scheduling
  • Operations management
  • Manufacturing and quality control

You don’t need to have all of these skills.

We want to know what you are good at and how those skills could contribute to the business.

Forklift experience

A current forklift licence and practical forklift experience are highly desirable.

We regularly move and handle hire equipment in our yard, so someone who is already confident and competent operating a forklift would be particularly valuable.

Where could the role lead?

That depends partly on you.

For someone with strong practical or trade skills, the position could expand into equipment repairs, fibreglass work, maintenance and the fit-out of new portable ensuite equipment.

For someone with leadership and organisational experience, there may be opportunities to take greater responsibility for staff, scheduling, yard operations, workshop activities and day-to-day operations.

We’re an established specialist business, and a capable person has the opportunity to become an important part of our operation.

What we’re looking for

Most importantly, you will be:

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Practical and mechanically minded
  • Physically capable and comfortable with hands-on work
  • Able to work independently and use initiative
  • Safety conscious
  • Careful with vehicles and equipment
  • Organised
  • Professional when dealing with customers
  • Willing to clean toilets, showers and hire equipment
  • Someone who takes pride in doing a job properly

A suitable current driver’s licence is essential.

A forklift licence is highly desirable, and additional trade qualifications, licences and tickets will be viewed favourably.

Remuneration

Remuneration will depend on experience, qualifications and the additional skills you bring to the role.

We’re open to considering applicants at different experience levels—from a reliable driver/yard person through to someone with significant trade, supervisory or operational experience.

How to apply

Please send us your resume to shannon@ensuitesontow.com.au along with a short introduction.

Rather than just telling us you’re interested in the position, we’d like you to tell us:

What have you done previously? What practical skills do you have? What are you particularly good at? And what do you think you could bring to our business?

If you’ve worked in transport, construction, maintenance, fibreglass, caravans/RVs, manufacturing, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fabrication, workshop supervision or operations, we’d particularly like to hear from you.
